Witham Healthcare Centre
Priti has been at the forefront of campaigning for better local health services for her constituents. She has championed the need for a new multi-purpose healthcare centre to be established in Witham Town since being elected. Progress is being made with a business plan being developed. Once all local GPs agree to the proposals the project will move onto its next stage.
The healthcare centre is vital to support the health needs of a growing population. Local councils in this part of Essex are proposing the development of at least 37,000 new homes over the next two decades and Priti is also campaigning for more GPs in Essex. Priti strongly believes that when new development is built, new public services and healthcare provision must be introduced too.
She has already worked with Anglia Ruskin University to secure from the Government investment from the Government in 100 new medical places a year to train more doctors and continues to lobby the Government and NHS to invest more in primary care in Essex.
During her time as Witham’s MP, Priti has also secured changes to bring about new paramedics and ambulances at the East of England Ambulance Service and campaigned for investment in new services at Broomfield Hospital and Colchester Hospital.
